Ensuring the safety of the people and the environment in a management area is one of the most important tasks of a district water board. Dike instability compromises this safety, as a result of which this subject is high on the agenda of the various district water boards. The characteristics of the technique suggest that the HDDW offers possibilities in the event of dike instability as a result of dehydration or too much hydration. However, the technique has not been sufficiently researched for this application yet.

Therefore, further research is required. The developments in this area will be published on, among others, this website.
