From 30th of november till 11th of december 2009 a final experiment will be conducted on the grounds of Waternet in Nieuwegein. The goal of this test is to examinate what the best construction method is for a HDDW for the extraction of drinking water. Therefor 4 different filterype will be tested during two different drillings with two different drilling fluid.
Filter types are:
- RVS winding wire filter
- PVC winding wire filter
- PVC closed tube
- PVC closed tube with sand pack attached
Traditional drilling clay and xanthaan gom will be used as drilling fluid. The results of the test will be used to optimize the design and preparation of a fullscale extraction for Brabant Water (Netherlands). Furthermore the test extraction will be used to optimize the development of the HDDW filters. The filters will be available after construction for further tests to the pollution and durability of the filtertypes.
